How does GPS works ?
GPS OR GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM works by pinpointing your
location on the earth's surface using
trilateration.Any gps receiver connects with atleast three of a network of 24 geo-stationary
satellites orbiting the earth. the satellites are so arranged that at any given place , atleast four satellites are visible. The network initially put up by the us military , but was later opened for everyone. Apart from
location tracking , GPS can also be used to measure the velocity , and mavigate from place to place. Since GPS receiver on earth only receives signals from these satellites, any number of people can use the system simultaneously.
