RELIGION - FICTITIOUS FORM OF PHILOSOPHY TO THE MASSES OR THEOLOGY IN METAPHORICAL FORM?

Book Abstract by: Melanie Engels

Original Author: MELANIE ENGELS
It has long been established that the Bible is unerring; hence, it must lie with the interpretations that present problems
in making sense of scripture. At Mt 13:35 it says so fittingly: “I’ll open my mouth with illustrations, I’ll publish (reveal) things hidden since the founding.” Decoding illustrations and finding objects that are really concepts would indeed present problems as not everybody thinks alike. Reconciling the Divine Scripture with Science is, therefore, my aim.
For example, reconciling Noah''s Ark: Noah’s Ark is a concept that was built on facts the masses could relate to – a boat, that floats in water - but in fact relates to a higher meaning - the earth floating in space.
Speculations about Noah’s Ark are many. The reason why humanity has kept it alive for centuries has been the question if indeed the Ark ever existed. Boats are a means of transportation  – let’s not forget that. If remnants of boats as described in Genesis and found in regions mentioned in the Bible is definitely no proof that it is Noah’s Ark, because Noah''s Ark never existed, the ''boat'' was only used as a tool for comparison.
We live in a cosmic hierarchy – from the macro atom (the solar system as an entity) to the micro atom (the microscopic world). The most sophisticated macro atomic structure is the solar system and the most basic and simple atomic structure is found in the microscopic world. Both obey the same principles of nature - in their designated space and time.
The solar system is an enclosed system of which the sun is the head of the hierarchy, and operates in 7000-year cycles. Each cycle has a beginning and an end. After every big bang a new creation is fashioned but only on planet earth where processes from coarse materials to an end-directed finished product takes place – humanity - from darkness to enlightenment, aided by the planetary components of the solar system. That the number ‘seven’ indicates a cycle is indicated in the Bible by the seven-day weekly cycles. Considering what it says at 2Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day,” it is not hard to discern that comparing the cosmic cycle of 7000 years on a large scale, and the seven-day weekly cycles on a small scale is a parallel design in a smaller space in the cosmic hierarchy.
Scientific concepts were not well understood by the masses in the Antiquity, hence ideas needed to be conveyed in comparable terms, in accord with the mindset of the people. The biblical narration of ‘Noah''s Ark’ refers in metaphorical terms to an underlying greater reality. There''re two arks mentioned in the Bible: one, Noah’s Ark; and two, the Ark of the Covenant. Bezaleel was the craftsman of the Ark of the Covenant, which means ‘in the shadow of God’. These are illustrations only indicating the people of that age lived in darkness while the ''temple'' (the human mind) was silently in building, as it was a scientific concept – hence, in the shadow of God. This concept as supported at 1Kings 6:7 “so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.” The Ark of Noah on the other hand makes reference to a different concept. I interpret the narrative to the collapse of the 7000-yr cosmic cycle (a day is but a thousand years, 2Peter 3:8), the Omega point (I''m the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, Rev 22:13). The Omega concept means the end of the age/cycle. Therefore it follows if God created everything in six days (meaning six thousand years) and rested on the seventh day (Exodus 20:11) the eve of the sixth day is parallel to the cosmic equilibrium at which time God rests in his labour that comes about as a result of cosmic entropy when men’s striving will end, and the Millennium wille solar system collapses at the end of the Millennium it turns into a black hole.  It is synonymous with Noah’s Ark when God allows certain species to be saved. In the same manner the ''God-chosen'' sill also be saved for the next generation. When the solar system collapses all its variables will be taken ''on board'' – only men’s creations will be destroyed in order for archaeologists in the next creation to find some meaningful tasks in their lives digging for buried treasures. The solar system as a black hole ‘floats’ too in the greater universe beyond the solar system, and the earth ''floats'' in the solar system similar to Noah’s Ark in the water.  When the solar system and all its planetary systems have been regenerated with new energy for a new creation, a new big bang will occur. It will then fashion a new creation on earth with new problems to conquer and a new end-directed goal to strife for. In essence this is my understanding of Noah’s Ark. Watch out for my next abstract.
