From a research conducted not long ago on the Native American people in the U.S.A, who are using a drug called "Mescaline" that is extracted from the "Peyote" cactus.
This psychedelic drug help's people come closer to their god, through feelings of disassociation and holiness. "John Halpern" a psychiatrist conducted the study and for five years he examined the drug users and got to the conclusion that "Mescaline" didn't cause any brain damage, on the contrary - the drug raised the mental health of it's users by several degrees as apposed to the people who didn't use it at all. So? Can this drug be used freely? Or maybe it's a brake through in a sense that not all drugs are bad for your health and can cause pleasure? Not so sure.
The researchers stress that the "Peyote" is not necessarily good for all people and its use is illegal. Anyway, my opinion is that using drugs is not a good place to get into. Any addiction is not good at all.
