United States policies on Agricultural subsidization

Book Abstract by: archibald spalding

Original Author: Jason Ward
Resulting from decisions made in the past and goals that must be met in the future the United States must have a “current”
policy on agricultural subsidies. The policy of the United States on agricultural subsidies is to fund farmers and any other agricultural producers in order to keep the food coming and to keep the food at reasonable prices in order to maintain a powerful, yet stable economy. The United States primarily fund the most productive of the farmers or commodity wholesalers in order to help insure that the money given through subsidies will be received back through the economy. Other elements of United States policy on agricultural subsidies include paying farmers on incentive-based subsidization in order to induce compliance with certain political guidelines in exchange for money that many farmers need. While United States policy remains the same on keeping subsidization strong with the economy that could change soon because of pressure from the developing nations of the world that claim United States subsidies are responsible for low competition in the world’s agricultural markets and that these subsidies are used as protective measures by the United States to keep the economy strong by keeping American agricultural products viable through subsidization.<1>
While the elements of U.S. policy on agricultural subsidies have been discussed the reason they are evident is due to the indicators of the policy which include various documents from policy statements and bills to executive actions.
