The Founders Of Classical Mechanics; Johanned Kepler

Book Abstract by: HMWeimar

Original Author: None listed
This is an Biography of Johannes Kepler, however the same article has links to biographies of other founders of classical
mechanics. The biography includes pictures and a birth to death synopsis of his life with highlights and dates. This is a nicely written brief biography that would help with research on Kepler but I don't think it would sustain a whole essay or papers worth of information. Kepler was born in 1571 and was one of the founding fathers in astronomy and astrology. He was introduced to it at a very young age and started his scientific work later in life and used data collected from other well known scientist such as Tycho Brache. Kepler introduced the idea of planetary motion and wrote many papers and on the subject of astronomy. the most significant discovery he is known for is that planetary motion is elliptical instead circular. unfortunately some of his experiments didn't work and couldn't be proven, he became more popular when studies in mathematic grew and more of his theories could be proven. The biography gives some light to his thoughts and feeling on different subjects such as God and astrology. Like I said before the information is all here its just a brief biography. If you are interested in finding out more about his work,or even who he was, it is a good place to start. It is a quotable site but doesn't offer much in the way of scietific information. It more about his life and times and when he presented certain information. It gives a sad note in his life that only two years after his death his grave was demolished during the thirty years' war. This is a readable site but it is a physicist site so it is a little dry and to the point. But if you are interested in science and Kepler you will enjoy it.
