The synthesis of different-sized
nanoparticles is quite important because the properties of these nanoparticles depend on
their dimensions. The cadmium sulfide
nanoparticles have been synthesized within polystyrene-polydivynilbenzene (PSty-PDVB), polymethacrylic acid-polydivynilbenzene (PMAAPDVB), sulfonated polystyrene-polydivinylbenzene (SO3H-PSty-PDVB) and mesoporous AlMCM-41 by direct polymerization miniemulsion and ion exchange
techniques. UV-vis data indicated the different-sized CdS nanoparticle were obtained in different matrices. This indicated the formation and nucleation of CdS nanoparticles in the polymer and AlMCM-41 matrices depended on matrices characteristic and preparation techniques.
