EVALUATON OF EFFECT TO CONTROL INSECT PESTS IN STORED WHEAT MIXED WITH DIA TOMACEOUS EARTH IN VERTIC

To evaluate the effect controlled insect pests in stored wheat mixed with diatomaceous earth(DE) dust,ProtectIt,by 400 ppm dosage and in surface treatment of the silo space sprayed ProtectIt dust by 5 g/m2 concentration,the numbers of insect pests of stored grain infested on the top lay of wheat mass are detected in silo to use the methods of routine sample and of corrugated cardboard trap.The result of routine sample shown that the numbers of Cryptolestes ferrugineus,Sitophilus zeamais are decrease from May to July in the silo treated wit ProtectIt in which infested by insect pests before the trials.In the corresponding period,these pests are increase in the control silo without ProtectIt and insect pests infestation before the trials.There is good effect to trap the insect pests in the silo with corrugated cardboard trap.10 species of insect pests of stored grain are trapped in trial period.It is more effective to trap the psocids of stored grain with cardboard.From the end of July to the end of Aguster,the means numbers of Liposcelis entomophila and L. decolor per cardboard in treated silos are evidently more less than that in in control silos(P<0.05).The means of Tribolium castaneum,Cryptolestes ferrugineus,and Plodia interpunctella in the treated silos to compare with that of control silo have same results as the psocids.The results indicated that the DE of ProtectIt mixed with wheat has a very evident effect against psocids and insect pests of stored grain.
