In greenhouse, pot experiment was conducted to study the effects of basal dressing of chicken manure and dressing chemical
fertilizers on growth of Cande Labra Aloe before its branching period. The results showed that for the growth amounts of Cande Labra Aloe, there was no significant difference between the dressing of non fertilization and the solely dressing of chemical fertilizers.Under low fertilization condition, the growth amount of Cande Labra Aloe was the largest, root number, height, branching number and the number of net increased leaves per plant were all higher than that of control treatments, respectively.Comparing the treatment of basal dressing of chicken manure as well as post dressing of chemical fertilizers with the treatment of solely dressing of chicken manure, the fresh weight of the former decreased significantly, and the height also dropped.Under basal dressing of high amount of chicken manure as well as post dressing of chemical fertilizers, the growth of Cande Labra Aloe was seriously inhibited, comparing with control group, the fresh weight of Cande Labra Aloe decreased by 13.8%,the water content in leaves reduced significantly, the average root length lowered, too.Under different treatments, there was no obvious change to the nitrogen and potassium contents in leaves of Cande Labra Aloe, except for the treatment of solely dressing of chemical fertilizers and the treatment of basal dressing of high amount of chicken manure as well as dressing of chemical fertilizers, under other fertilization treatments, the phosphorus contents in the leaves of Cande Labra Aloe increased to a large extent, they were 2-3 times that of no fertilization treatment.
