It is proved that jiuzhaigou natural protect ion clearly reflectized the transitive charcterization of the vertical bioclimatic
zone. Basic-zone in this area expressed distingshing feature of semi-humid warm temparate zone,under coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest developed on mountain cinna-mon soil. Along with the rising altitude the bioclimaticsoil zone changes in the order of humid warm temperate-mountain brown earth zone→humid mid temperate-mountain dark brown soil zone→moist cold temperate-mountain spodic soil zone→frigid subalpine and alpine meadow soil zone→forest weathering zone. Studies on the morphological structure of soil profile in
Jiuzhaigou region,particularly on thechemical properties, mineral and humic composition of main mountain soils have showed that the bio-climaric factors, especially the hydrothermal conditions, profoundly influnce the conversion of sub-stance and energy in varied vertical zones and thus control the developmental orintation of soil forma-tion(e.g. the Calcification in cinnamon soil). Results obtained from the field investigation and soil map drawing by medium scale also show thegegional features of the
geographical distribution,Soils in Jiuzhaigou are divided into 10 types includ-ing 23 subtypes which are included both in zonal and monzonal soils. THeir variations in the spaceclosely relate to the developmental conditon. The relief condition and carent rocks proporties influence the formation and distribution of nonzaonal soils and furthermaore identically influence the zonal soils.Therefore, Jiuzhaigou Natural Protection presents unusual complex comp sdition of soil mantle.
