Vertical distribution regularity of
Fe and Mn and their content in different subgroups of
black soil in the middle part of Jilin province (three subgroups and five profiles) were studied, by means of filed work, chemical analysis, etc. The results showed that the tested trace elements had different distributions in different
parent material profiles and soil types. Red parent material had high content of
total Fe while loess parent material had high content of total Mn. Total Fe had surface accumulation and
illuviation in loess parent material typical black soil and albic black soil. Available Fe, on the other hand, had obvious illuviation in meadow black soil. Some other available Fe had the same rule with total Fe. Total Mn had the rule of decreasing from upside to downside, and it had strong
leaching in meadow black
Soil. In albic black soil, it had obvious surface accumulation and leaching illuviation. Available Mn had little change in meadow black soil, but in albic black soil and typical black soil it had strong surface accumulation. Available Mn was positively correlated with organic matter (r=0.526,n=19).
