There are several types of red soil distributed in large areas in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Different
types of red soil is clearly stretched in zones . The controlling conditions of the evolving series from red soil to crimson soil and to drab-red soil are as following : pH value decreasing , rain precipitation and air temperature increasing . It can be foreseen that the demarcation lines between different types of red soil move gradually toward the north in Guangxi region due to the influences of acid rain and greenhouse effect. The water body should be protected from the poisonous heavy metal pollution which is leached out from the nearby red soil . It is necessary to do some further studies about whether a great deal of iron and aluminum elements in the red soil is harmful to humankind. The fertility will naturally decreases as the useful trace elements and soil nutrition are leached out in the red soil . It is important to use suitable fertilizer to protect the red soil resources.
