Pictures from the internet and news broadcasts about the Earthquake in New Zealand discuss the effect of this quake and it seems that there was little loss of life but there are some damaged buildings as a result of the Quake! The earthquake link is still a powerfully provocative plane on which to fly as it stimulates memories of the Big Turkish Earthquake in 1999. Myself and other survivors of the 1999 Turkish Earthquake are still recalling the devastation of the quake and the deaths that were a result of the quake. My friend in Turkey and I were badly hit together with our colleagues and it was after I came back to London that I penned a poem title:: Turkish Earthquake which was published in an anthology title: Magical Memories and published by Forward Press Ltd., Poetry Publishers UK. In fact, my interest was sustained and my publishers let me know that a copy of this book is kept at The British Library in London to provide a lasting record of my published work by www.forwardpress.co.uk
It is good to know that from the reports of the New Zealand Earthquake there were no real disasters other than some buildings suffering damage and I contacted those with relatives in New Zealand and got a reply last night by email to say that their relatives did not suffer any personal damage to themselves or their children and apart from a broken window their home was unaffected by the earthquake in New Zealand!
