Geocentric Theory worked out Greek
astronomer Klaudiusz Ptolemeusz in II century and he showed it in his work "Megale syntaksis".
Assumptions:
- immobile Earth is a center of the Universe,
- 20 000 earthbeam away from the center of the Universe there is a crystal sphere,
- inside the sphere there are 7 planets: the Moon, the Mercury, the Venus, the Sun, the Mars, the Jupiter, the Saturn,
- constant stars are fixed to the sphere,
- the Moon and the Sun move directly on circles (deferents) around the Earth,
- other planets also move on circles aroun the Earth, but, furthermore, they do a uniform motion on a smaller route called epicycle.
Ptolemeusz explained planets'' movements and the sequence of astronomical phenomenons. He did it through the diferrents calculations, which were connected with the size of epicycles and theirs inclination.
