INDIAN ROCKET ON A BICYCLE TO MOON
Every body gets astonished to know, that indias first
rocket transported to its equitorial launching station
Thumba ,about fourty three years ago was on a bicycle.
The rocket itself was so small that it could be carried in
one hand and transported by bicycle.Which is a sharp
contrast to modern day geostationary launch vechicle rockets
(GSLV).Which are seventy meters long and weing more than
four hundred tons.
The second rocket which was slightly bigger launched
by indian space research organisation(ISRO) some time later
was a little bigger and heavier. It was transported in a
bullock cart to its destination for the lift of .On
november 21st 1963 the first rocketwas launched into the
sky from Thumba.
Since then, four decades have passed and more than
three thousand sounding rockets have been flown into the
sky for various experiments.
When the technology was in the beginning of stages
sounding rocket were the early rudimentory rockets.Rapid
strides were taken by India in space technology and brought
several early benefits. When the first rocket was launched
from its launching station Thunmba, the excited kerala
lagislative assebmbly in session was adjouned just to have
view of bright vapour trail which the rocket left as it
zoomed in the sky.
Now , Indian rocket has a capacity to take 1600 kgs
and 2000 kgs satellites into the polar orbit snd
geostationary poporbit using pslv and gslv.
