Knowing how the
great scientists
perceived the thoughts about the great inventions is an interesting topic to learn. It’s the one step before invention was made available to the society. Most of the developed science departments as on date are passed over a period of infant stage, later when the people understood that the field requires more investigation, they have exaggerated the departments to a full-fledged research team.
Cell biology is also one such department, which was came into existence as it was conceptualized and believed to have much more to understand about it by the great scientists like Flemming, Walther (1843–1905). He is a German anatomist, used stains or dyes to study the internal details of the cells. Up on repeated observation, he found that a particular part of the cell acquired more stain and
named it Chromatin. Further he
observed that this particular part during the cell
division got separated in to some stringy structures, which later identified as Chromosomes.
Flemming originally perceived most of the
observations that we are now made aware of related to the somatic cell division. This famous scientist coined the name mitosis from Greek word. He has also observed that these Chromosomes during cell division forms star like appearance in either side of the dividing cell, which he named as asters. Most of his observations are described in his book ‘Cell Substance, Nucleus, and Cell Division.’ Later his discoveries were recognized as the one, which is the basis for the science of inheritance.
