Diffusion
Purpose:
To know what is diffusion and how is the process of diffusion.
Tools and materials:
1. A
transparent glass 1. 25 ml of syrup
2. A spoon 2. 100 ml of water
3. A measurement glass
4. A timer
Steps:
1. We measure water in measurement glass until we get 100 ml of water.
2. We put the water in a transparent glass.
3. We measure the syrup until we get 25 ml of syrup.
4. We put the syrup into the transparent glass of water.
5. We wait the change of those different solutions until 30 minutes.
6. We mix those different solutions.
Observation design:
The result:
After the syrup is put into the water, firstly the syrup is not mixed with water but just under the water. After 30 minutes the syrup is, begin to mixed, but not all the solution is mixed. Then we stir it with spoon and the solution can be mixed completely.
Explanation:
Diffusion is a movement of molecule from a place with high
concentration (hypertonis)to a place with low concentration (hypotonis). In my observation, the syrup is the molecule that is in high concentration, the syrup is put into water, the place with low concentration, and the syrup molecule can move to the water. It makes a mixed solution or isotonis solution.
