Article Abstract by: RohitS

Envision a world where traditional farms producing traditional foodstuffs could not hope to feed a world groaning under the
demands of more than six billion inhabitants.
Given the current demographic, both optimists and pessimists in the area of nutrition agree that sooner or later, even the richest would have to rely heavily on synthetic foods to provide their bodies with sustenance.
Far from being a substitute for ordinary foods however, synthetics are usually too expensive to even be considered as the primary source of a balanced diet. They have instead found their niche in the market in the form of supplements and diet foods. Most multi-vitamin formulas sold today are also synthetic
The term ‘Green Superfood’ describes foods such as Spirulina, Chlorella, Barley Grass and Alfalfa. These are amongst Nature’s more highly concentrated nutrient rich whole foods.
Spirulina for one is a microscopic fresh water plant that helps replenish essential amino acids and glycogen leading to enhanced energy, vitality, mental clarity and focus. It has been traditionally consumed by many cultures as a highly valued natural food and has been growing on Earth for around 3.5 billion years.
It has been discovered that many diseases that prevent the body from performing at optimum levels are caused or aggravated by poor bowel health. Detoxification of the body can be performed by another microscopic plant called Chlorella.
It flushes out the stored waste and pollutants; helps tone and cleanse the blood and acts as an internal deodorant.
Barley Grass is a Super Greenfood which imparts an alkaline residue once digested and can help to reduce acidity in the body brought on by the tension of everyday life. It is non-allergenic and contains no animal or dairy additives besides being high in colloidal ionic minerals. It has proven especially beneficial to people with weakened digestive systems.
Although Alfalfa is a food crop for animals, it has been employed as a herbal medicine for at least 1500 years. It’s most promising prospects in health care however, lie in the area of cholesterol control. Alfalfa seeds are also used as a folk remedy for asthma or other breathing conditions. Because some components of this plant may act alike to the female hormone estrogen, it has been suggested as potentially useful in controlling the effects of menopause as well.
Green Superfoods thus can be seen to create the perfect nutritional balance, in addition to natural vitamins and minerals; they also contain proteins, enzymes, fibre, antioxidants and natural, healthy plant pigments.
