EFFECTS OF NEEM DERIVATIVES IN INSECT CONTROL
The use of neem seed derivatives offers a novel approach in the management of
insect pests especially if it is integrated with other control methods of pest control. It has much to offer towards solving agricultural, public health and socio economic problems of our society. Therefore it is necessary to increase awareness of the potential of neem in agricultural sustainability as substitute for synthetic
agrochemicals. In case of cultivation and use, neem based pesticides are cheaper and more convenient especially in then rural community as rural farmers can produce home insecticides from neem. the most promising use of neem would be in integrated pest management. It is relatively safe to predators and parasites and it is compatible with bio-control. Neem is the multipurpose tree and is a safe trend for pest control in the future.
