A
Day in the Life of a
Plant Pathologist
By Teodorico Magda teodoricomagda@yahoo.com
Plant
pathology seemed appropriate for my likes as a researcher. It seemed also a good excuse for nurturing my love for nature and for exploring new organic places hunting for rare mycological specimens. I spent much time on field days, visiting farms, and researching on plant diseases. I loved interacting with farmers and growers and getting dirty in the paddies and farms. Asked by a colleague why I had picked plant pathology as a line, I quipped saying that “because it (the plant pathology registration office) seemed a very short distance to the road than any other offices.”
