The sun causes changes in weather. It affects the movement of air and changes the form of water, which brings about
changes in weather.
When the sun rises, it is day when the sun sets, it is night, and days are warmer than nights. This is because the sun’s ray falls upon the earth during the day. The warm the land, air and water. At the night when there is no sun, it is cooler. In the morning and evenings, the sun’s rays are slanting. So it is not very hot. At noon the sun’s ray’s fall directly on the earth and it is very hot.
The part of the earth that is closer to the sun has summer. The part of the earth away from the sun has winter.
Temperature is the degree of hotness or coldness of a day. The unit of temperature is degree centigrade. Temperature is measured using a thermometer.

Water boils at 100 Celsius. It freezes to become ice at 0 Celsius. A Celsius thermometer will generally have a scale ranging from 0 Celsius to 100 Celsius. So, a doctor’s or a clinical thermometer has only a small range 35-43 degree centigrade.
The daily news websites has a column which gives you the weather details. It gives details such as minimum and the maximum temperature for the day, rainfall, weather forecast for subsequent days etc. special types of thermometers are used to record the atmosphere temperature during the 24 hour period of a day. The news websites also gives the details of maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at different places other than the place live. Temperature at a given place directly influences the weather condition on that place.
