Nuklear power plants are common nowadays. They produce energy in the process of splitting the nucleus of atom. In this process a lot of nucleear waste is made. There are some advantages and disadvantages of having nuclear plants. Firstly, I would like to mention that nuclear plants are really the best source of energy. They are very powerful. All the processes that happen in nuclear reactors aren''t too difficult to carry out. Nuclear plants are profitable investments. But on the other hand there are a lot of threats and disposal of radioactive waste. A lot of scientists have many different ideas on this subjects. In each case, however, there is a risk that radioactive waste can cause a very serious damage for people and the environment. Some cases of dumping radioactive materials are just another example of human thoughtlessness and it raises fears that what seems safe now, may turn out to be deadly in the not-too-distant future.
Another group of danger are nuclear accidents. There were, there are, and I''m sure there will be a lot of smaller and bigger accidents in the world connected with nuclear plants. Radiation leaks from nuclear reactors can cause various types of cancer. It can seriously affect workers and the residents of the areas near the power plants. Sometimes nuclear power plants can break down and then the danger is very great. After such breakdowns people within the radius of twenty miles have to be evacuated and moreover health of many of them is in danger. Generally speaking, we can see that although nuclear power plants give us a lot of of energy, they cause a lot of different dangers. We should carefully consider building and using nuclear power plants.
