Air Pollution

Article Summary by: madugundukrishna

Original Author: krishnamadu

Polluted air can lead to respiratory diseases. Fresh air is necessary for good health.
Air gets polluted by smoke,
dust and gasses emitted by vehicles and favorites. Smoke contains ash, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
Open drains and stagnant water polluted the air with foul smell.
The population in the world, particularly in our country, is increasing very fast. To make room for the growing population, more and more trees have been cut down, reducing the oxygen in the atmosphere.
More vehicles are in use adding to poisonous emissions. An increase in industries and factories has also added to air pollution.
Air pollution can be prevented if a few simple rules are observed. Factories should be constructed away from thickly, Populated areas. The emissions from vehicles must be constantly monitored for toxic gases.
Plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen during the day, so more trees must be planted if the air around us is to be cleaner.
Air is a mixture of many gases. It contains oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapor and other gases. The percentage of oxygen in air is 21%, that of nitrogen 78% and that of carbon dioxide 0.03%.
Nitrogen is an inactive gas
It constitutes more than three – fourths of air. Plants get nitrogen from the soil. It is needed for the manufacture of fertilizers and urea, ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate.
We breathe out carbon dioxide during respiration.
During daytime plants are taking in carbon dioxide for preparation of food and give out oxygen. Even though carbon dioxide is present in small quantities it is very important for life plants need it to prepared food.
