Ecology comes from the Greek word oikos ("habitat") and logos ("science"). Meaning as good science that studies the interactions between living things and the interactions between living things and their environment. The term ecology was first proposed by Ernst Haeckel (1834-1914).
Now, the term ecology has been widely used and refers to the study of the interrelations between organisms and the environment and the mutual relationships among the organisms themselves.
