During the summer 2006, the
Municipal
Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise from Warsaw issued a competition
for replacing
post-
tensioning system and installing a
stressing forces
monitoring system in
drinkable water
tank. The project was launched to omit danger
of disaster, caused by unexpected cracking of existing, strongly corroded
stressing
tendons. Scope of ordered works covered designing and execution. The
company ASIS ltd. won the contract and did the job in collaboration with BBR
Polska ltd., using highly protected against corrosion post-tensioning tendons,
equipped with stressing force sensors. The paper glossed construction details
of the tendons.
