ACELERATED CURE OF LIME-SOIL MIXTURES: A CASE STUDY DRIVING TO TWO TYPICALS SOILS AT VICOSA
CITY
The use of the traditionals technics had excellents results to expansives and laterithics brazilian soils .
This article come to presents the results of a work that studied the acelerated cure of two soils at Vicosa region, stabilished with 6% of calcic lime. Was considerated the results of unconfined compressive test, time of curing in 12, 24 ad 48 hours at curing temperature of 22,8, 30 and 500C.
The pozolanic activity between the lime and soil is stronghly linked to the curing temperature. The increase of the lime-soil resistence is dirctlly proportional with the temperature increasing. This result is a preliminary conclusion because the lime-soil reactions depended on the cementation formation between fine-minerals (clays) present in the soil structure. Thus is necessary major studies to obatin regionals parameters to the correct design of lime-soil stabilization.
