An easy to learn book for JavaScript learners. This is a book that not only makes learning JavaScript easy but also exciting. The CD that comes along with this book is like the icing on the cake.
Each spread, in essence a flow chart-the text and the screen shots are totally incorporated into the layout of the spread.Introductory text and helpful tips complete the learning experience. The light blue background and the crystal clear font style goes easy on the eyes of the reader or rather say learner. The fact that the book contains more screenshots than text shows how much the book is designed for practical application.Even the theme of the screenshots and exercises are made in such a way that it induces the learner to try it out practically. The EXTRA column gives tidbits to innovative usage while the APPLY IT column gives Easy-to-do exercises.Though the text is kept to an optimal minimum it is comprehensive i.e they are more in less .The flagged explanation of the screenshots gives wholesome understanding of the screenshot even for a beginner. In short this book has everything one looks for in a computer learning book.
As for as the chapters are considered the layout and sequencing order is terrific.
The book is divided into fifteen chapters. It starts with thew introduction to JavaScript a comprehensive introduction to scripting in general and JavaScript in particular. It is followed by Variables and Arrays and Expressions which are the fundamental units for building a program. It is then followed by Program flow control to apply the learnt fundamentals. Then the more important functions, events and objects follow which take the learner deeper into the software. Then a series of Working with viz.,...windows,strings,dates and timesmath object, forms and frames give an extensive knowledge of this software. The penultimate chapter introduces the nuances of this software namely Environment properties and finally wraps up with Debugging.
This is clearly a great learning book and I personally recommend all JavaScript learners to read it coz I've read it personally and have been duly benefitted.
