Coal mining exploitation results in
surface deformations. The most essential of them influencing the mining area
are: strain, mining subsidence, slope, curvature. Slope cause building
deflection. The paper presents rectification process of two
buildings. First
one is two-store framed structure deflected 39,5 mm/m, the second is 11-store
block of flats deflected 26 mm/m. Inclination in case of those buildings was
eliminated by lifting with the help of hydraulic jacks. In case of framed
structure of two-storey building the force from jacks on columns was
transmitted by friction. Presented method of rectifying buildings through
lifting allows quickly and faultlessly eliminate mining damage effects such as
building deflection, thus preventing them from being demolished or collapsing.
