MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF BUILDING ELEMENTS FOR LOW-TEMPERATURE, LATENT HEAT STORAGE SYSTEMS

Article Abstract by: toffi_75

Original Author: Dariusz HEIM
The
mathematical modelling of heat conduction in buildings elements with latent
heat storage is presented in
the paper. Behaviour of active building elements
was modelled using the concept of the special materials technique. The special
materials were introduced to ESP-r as means of modelling building elements,
which change their thermophysical properties in response to a certain external
excitation. The node defined as a special material – phase change material node
represents the layer that physical properties are temperature depended. An
effect of phase transition is added to the energy balance equation as a latent
heat generation term according to the so-called apparent heat capacity method.
