CONTINUITY THRESHOLD OF THE POLYMER PHASE IN POLYMER-CEMENT COMPOSITES

Article Abstract by: toffi_75

Original Author: Paweł ŁUKOWSKI
The
subject of the paper is verification and justification of the continuity
threshold of the polymer phase in
polymer-cement composites. Analysis of
experimental data shows that the threshold can be found at the level of about
5% of polymer regarding to Portland cement mass. Theoretical calculations have
been carried out using sterical considerations and percolation theory. The
obtained results have confirmed the possibility of the threshold value being
equal to 6% of polymer. Good conformity of those estimations can be a proof for
the real value location near those ones. Performed computer simulations point
also on the geometrical aspects as more significant for polymer film creation
than the chemical nature of the polymer.
