BEARING CAPACITY AND SETTLEMENT OF THE CABLE BRIDGE OVER MARTWA WISŁA RIVER IN GDAŃSK

Article Abstract by: toffi_75

Original Authors: Andrzej TEJCHMAN; Kazimierz GWIZDAŁA; Ireneusz DYKA
The
bridge connecting two sides of Martwa Wisla river is a part of Sucharski route.
The bridge was designed and
performed as cable bridge with single pylon. The pylon’s
support was founded on 50 piles of the diameter of 1800 mm and the length of 30
m with the chamber injection to increase the bearing capacity of the piles and
to decrease its settlements. One static load test of single pile was carried
out on the site. The Settlement of realised pylon foundation was also measured
by means of surveying. A detailed analysis of settlements has been carried out
on the basis of available data and new proposed method of calculation. The
obtained results were compared to general known methods.
