In this
paper, the dynamic
response of the tall
industrial chimney (located in the
power station of Opole)
interacting with
soil caused by the gustiness of the
along
wind and caused by vortex shedding of the cross wind is considered. Two
procedures for the evaluation of the response is taken into account: 1) the
procedure based on a stochastic processes theory and random vibrations approach
<4>, 2) the procedure according to Polish Standard <5> The calculation results
for the displacement of the chimney are presented and compared together.
