The
aim of the paper is to present EC3 proposals for design of beam-
columns. The
interaction formulae included
in EVN EC3 and in the new
version prEN EC3 were
discussed with the special emphasis to the two alternative methods, namely French-Belgian
(method 1) and Austrian-German (method 2) of prEN. Comparison of the
results obtained from these methods for practical cases of beam-columns is also
included showing that method 2 is more conservative and gives results close to
the old EC3 version. There is a need to execute a wide educational program
teaching EC3 rules, for students and practising engineers.
