The
paper deals with the most essential rules of radiographic appraisal of
railway bridges
welded butt joints quality which are formulated in some
eurocodes newly
brought into practice in Poland. Some main differences between the eurocodes
and the corresponding former national Polish
Standards have been also
discussed. An example of actual butt welded joint classification on the basis
of the both groups of standards has been presented. It has been shown that in
general quality eurocodes requirements are higher than those from the former
Polish Standards, though in one case the situation is opposite, as,
inexplicably, one important weld imperfection (2012 – aligned porosity) is left
out of account in eurocode <10>.
