During the last 10 years
Finnish National Road Administration has applied Quality Assurance Systems for
all it’s
bridge construction works. This type of contracting has created
computer-aided systems, where the Quality Planning and the Documentation is
efficiently handled, minimising the amount of paper print-outs and sorting out
essential data. The Quality Requirements for each bridge project are gathered
by the consultant, who utilises the database of General Quality Requirements.
All data is transferred to the construction site to be complemented by the
contractor’s Quality Planning. The check and measurement data shall be logged
into the same database so that the acceptability may be proved step by step.
The computer system may sort out deviations and compute a Quality grade of the
entire execution.
