The Concessionary
Rio-Teresópolis, CRT, began in 22/11/1995 the
maintenance of Highway BR-116/RJ,
between the
city of Além Paraíba and the Highway BR-040/RJ, a segment located
between km 2,10 and km 144,6. To assist the Program of Exploration of Highways,
elaborated by the “Departamento Nacional de Estradas de Rodagem”, DNER, CRT
hired MCN Engenharia Ltda. to develop a Bridge Management System, to implement
strategies for preventive
maintenance instead of applying procedures when
defects appear. This paper try to present the approaches adopted for define the
content of the system and the results obtained with its application since 1996.
