I as a woman was overjoyed to receive permission from Doris Zimmerman - British Council Vienna Austria to teach part time at 62 and read my poems for remuneration so I got busy and replied
to several positions in Vienna University Austria.
Imagine my surprise when the University of Vienna invited me to register after I had explained WHY THEM .... as they are the Mathematics
Department and I am an English expert!
Well, I had worked for the
Statistics Department of Southampton University sometime ago and I found a niche for myself in linguistics and statistics .. so I pushed forward this idea as a real possibility.
When I had finished my work at the Statistics department I was then tested on the blackboard of the Professor''s Study to demonstrate that I could write an equation on the board from memory ... for his best student ... which I DID .. and I passed!
