When your stomach digests food, it breaks it down into substances that your body needs.
Eating is a balanced diet is very important.
A balanced diet must contain all these nutrients in the correct amount. If we do not get enough protein, our body will not grow properly and our cuts and bruises will not heal. If we do not eat enough energy- giving foods we will feel very tired. If we eat too much food containing fat, we will become overweight.
We should always wash our hands with soap and water before and after eating. Dirty hands carry germs which can cause illness. We should brush our teeth after we eat. Brushing teeth remove food particles from the teeth. If we don’t brush, germs will grow. These germs cause tooth decay.
We should eat three main meals in a day. We should never miss breakfast. Breakfast gives us energy for the whole day to work and play.
We should not eat any thing sold by street hawkers. The food hey sell is often kept open. Files and dust settle on the food. The food can carry germs that cause illness.
We should not eat foods like chips, burgers, chocolates, toffees or drink fizzy drinks too much. These foods contain a lot of fat, sugar and salt and are not good for us.
We should not read a book or watch TV while eating. We should try not to spill food while eating.
We should not waste food. We should drink clean water. We should not put dirty hands in pots that have drinking.
