This millennium has seen the eradication of a number of infectious diseases; however, the
deliberate or
inadvertent creations of more virulent pathogens have naturally evolved affecting human life. Millions of lives might be salvaged, manipulated, or destroyed depending on how the same
basic knowledge is applied.
Unfortunately, the insight to alter and manipulate basic life processes is not matched by the understanding the extended implications.That imbalance is much more likely to accelerate than to diminish.
It is realistic to expect that the current advances in molecular biology , biotechnology, and nanotechnology in particular, will extend to many other disciplines tha necessiates to assess the consequences on the evolutionary outcome.
It can be concluded that the human species is acquiring power beyond one can envision which pose monumental problems of prudential judgment to judiciously pursue the progress of scientific research and its application as society is not yet equipped to handle the ramification of appalling harm of deliberate or inadvertent wrong doings even though these advances could be boon to mankind.
