paper contrasts the novels "Madame Bovary" and "Anne of Green Gables" in terms of their strong imaginative rebellious
heroines that impacted their society at the time of the release. Both books had enormous popularity in their time. The paper explores how these
heroines significantly express the power of imagination and literature in the
lives of 'everyday' women. Their lives are examples and warnings for temperance.
