This paper examines life in America today as predicted in George Orwell's classic novel "1984." The writer of this paper
compares the current advancements in technologies to those mentioned in the novel and concludes that individual
privacy is sorely lacking in the U.S. This brief paper also discusses the lack of freedom as well as the over abundance of
advertising to the masses which is clearly detailed in Orwell's novel.
