dignity in the face of hardship that each character faces in Hemingway's novel
"For Whom the Bell Tolls." The
novel focuses on the main character of Robert, the American professor who has come to Spain to join the fight against the fascists. The writer of this paper also examines the title: "For Whom the Bell Tolls" which bears great meaning and relevance to the events of the novel.
