Robin Reilly has been living the life that her father Patrick and mother Anna had always
hoped. Though her
parents, never talked about their life left behind in Northern Ireland, Robin knew that the country held
deep scars for her parents. Robin had no idea. In fact, her parents had hoped that she would never discover how deep those scars ran or the real truth behind their immigration to America when Robin was just a toddler. Chain of
Deception is a completely apt title for this
book. As the story progresses, the main character finds out bits and
pieces of deception that end up leading to more questions and even more deception. Like Robin, just as the
reader thinks they’ve got the truth and have figured out how all of the pieces fit together, another piece is added and the reader has to start all over again. This aspect not only keeps the reader turning the pages but also makes them feel like part of the story. That much of the book is set in mysterious, romantic Ireland only adds to the intriguing nature of this book.
