Most, if not all, of Shakespeare's plays carry a theme where the
relationship of the main father and
daughter has an important
role in the climax and outcome of the stories. By examining the
relationship between King Lear and Cordelia in Shakespeare's "King Lear", this paper presents the opinion that the play has the most significant father and
daughter relationship out of all Shakespeare's works. The paper also examines "The Tempest" and "Othello".
