This paper examines how Act III Scene ii, one of the most powerful scenes in the play "
King Lear" and how it produces a depressed, dejected and hopeless picture of the king. In particular, it discusses how Lear both sins and is consequently
sinned against and how it is arguable that Lear is more sinned against than a sinner himself.
