The Theme Of Death In Three Works Of Poetry

Book Review by: AcaDemon

This paper compares and contrasts three poems: two by Emily Dickinson "My Life Closed Twice Before its Close", and "Because
I Could Not Stop for Death", and John Donne's "Death Be Not Proud Though Some Have Called Thee", analyzing how the personification of death and abstract, powerful words are used to grab the reader's attention, but the uses of tone and structure create three very different ideas and different poems.
