This
paper examines the work of Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope, both 18th Century poets who used satire to comment on the situation of the people and
society. Pope's poem "The Rape of the Lock" and Swift's "The Progress of Beauty" discuss the frivolous attitude of the women of the society in different ways. This paper discusses their treatment of use of cosmetics in the above-mentioned poems.
