This
paper introduces, discusses and analyzes the use of
love as an
ideal in the
arts. It examines song lyrics by Tupac Shakur, the film "Pretty Woman" and the poem "The Bride of the Greek Isle," by Felicia Hemans. Specifically, the paper shows that the way that love is portrayed in the arts does not always live up to the romantic ideal.
