This
paper examines the "Collected
Poems of Wallace Stevens", America poet. The paper shows that desire and desired denied in this work may be interpreted through the archetypal psychology of Carl Jung to disclose the reason for Stevens' preference for places over people and to explain his ambivalence toward the abstract feminine figures in his poems.
