Sir Edger Laurence, the famous pianist, is
playing Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra when he stops and
suddenly starts playing It’s a Long Way to Tipperary. Laura Broughton, a well known novelist, starts hearing conversations in her head asking her the deepest of questions. It seems that many people are also suddenly stricken by FOOB (funny out of the ordinary behavior). No one is quite sure what causes the affliction. Is it some sort of
virus caused by falling meteors or intelligent contact from another world? Is this virus harmful or merely meant as a bit of a lark? Sanity and the Lady is a creative mix of
science fiction,
paranormal fantasy, and
thriller which is a little difficult to pin down as for genre but seems to work well as a whole nonetheless. This unique style creates a story that is thought provoking and keeps the reader wondering while also being humorous and clever at the expense of the main characters.
