Motorcycle riding has always appealed to the young and adventurous. The wind whistling as you ride by, the pump of adrenaline in your veins and the overwhelming sense of freedom in the saddle has continuously propelled the growth of the motorcycle industry around the world. In our country, there are a couple more reasons why motorcycles are getting even more popular; the ever-rising fuel prices and the ever-worsening traffic condition. Unfortunately, with this rise in enthusiasm has also come a rise in fatalities from vehicular related accidents. I am not saying that motorcycle riders are to blame for everything, on the contrary, road safety is the collective responsibility of everyone who shares the streets, regardless of the type of vehicle he drives. And since we, motorcyclists, are the ones most at risk, shouldn’t we also be the ones who are most careful? Since it is honestly doubtful that most public utility vehicle drivers will ever learn to not be reckless, I believe that using a reliable helmet and a set of elbow/knee guards is necessary every time. A reminder though, do not let your ego get the better of you; I’ve met people who felt compelled to ride fast just because they wore armor, this urge could cause you harm. Do not mind other people so much, ride responsibly and safely all the time, you only have one
